Our Vision

Leading Provider of Inclusive Quality Education

To be the leading provider of inclusive quality education for socio-economic transformation, and produce a well-rounded learner capable of contributing meaningfully to the development of the country while leading a fulfilling and happy life.

Section A

General Behaviour

Learners are expected to demonstrate respect for themselves and others as well as be responsible citizens. They are expected to:

    Walk in an orderly manner within the school premises.

    Treat everyone in the school community with respect.
  • 3
    Respect and follow the rules and regulations of the school.
  • 4
    Refrain from inappropriate acts of intimacy.
  • 5
    Arrive at school on time — 7:45 AM sharp.
  • 6
    Be punctual at their designated bus pick-up points.
  • 7
    Be punctual for all classes and activities.
  • 8
    Absenteeism should be avoided at all costs. A learner absent for 21 days without proper reason may be required to repeat the year or enrol elsewhere.

    Inform the class teacher or Principal if expecting to be absent.
  • 10
    Parents to arrange with the class teacher to find out about lessons missed during the learner's absence.
  • 11
    Be responsible for their personal belongings and keep valuables safe.
  • 12
    Maintain the cleanliness of their own class and common areas including toilets and playground.
  • 13
    Refrain from running along the corridors and behind the buildings.
  • 15
    Greet adult members of the school community and visiting guests with respect.

Section B

Behaviour on School Buses

Bus service is an optional privilege. The school ensures the safety and security of all learners. As such, learners are expected to:

    Maintain the cleanliness of the school bus.
  • 2
    Refrain from changing their assigned seats on the bus.
  • 3
    Respect all the rules that apply to school behaviour.
  • 4
    Refrain from bringing dangerous objects on board the bus.
  • 5
    Remain seated at all times throughout the journey, regardless of whether the bus is moving or stationary.
  • 6
    Respect the authority of bus teachers, drivers, and other adults on the bus.
  • 7
    Obtain written approval from parents to leave school early or take different transport.
  • 9
    Obtain permission from the office before making changes to their bus routes.
  • 10
    Do not use bad language.
Consequences for Rule Violations

Section C

Mobile Phones & Electronic Devices
  • Learners are not allowed to bring mobile phones, MP3/4 players, portable CD players, radios, etc. to school premises unless permission is granted by teachers for a specific purpose.
  • Learners found with these items during the school day will have them confiscated. Items will be returned at the discretion of Senior Management.
Green Acres Private School will not be held responsible for the loss, theft or damage of any personal devices brought to school.

Section E

Dress Code
Wear proper school attire at all times
Be neat and tidy in appearance
Children who come untidy or inappropriately dressed will be sent back home to dress properly before returning to school.

School uniforms are available for purchase directly at the school. Uniform fees are non-refundable once the learner has been registered.

Procedure

Disciplinary Stages

There are normally four stages to the student Disciplinary Procedure. All learners will go through each stage:

First Written Warning

Initial formal written warning issued to the learner.

2
Second Warning + 1-Day Suspension

Second written warning accompanied by a one-day suspension from school.

3
Final Warning + 2-Day Suspension

Third and final written warning with a two-day suspension.

4
Serious Misconduct

Leads to two or more days of suspension, escalated to the school board if unresolved.

Counselling

Process & Consequences
  • Receive counselling from the school counsellor.
  • Be required to give a verbal and/or written apology countersigned by the parent/guardian.
  • Be placed on a weekly behavioural monitoring system by teachers and the counsellor.
All disciplinary matters are handled by the Principal and school management. Unresolved matters are referred to the school board. Parents will be notified and may be required to meet with teachers.

Finance & Admin

Fee Types
Application & Registration
A non-refundable application and registration fee is required for new learners. Fees will be communicated by management at the beginning of each year.
Transport Fees
Charged per area depending on distance from school. The bus is not compulsory. Payment due by the 7th of each month (January - December) — pay before you use the service.
Stationery Fees
Parents are responsible for providing stationery for their children.
Extracurricular & Trip Fees
Learners pay for extra activities (karate, swimming, trips, etc.) offered by external trainers or held off-premises. Some are compulsory; others voluntary.

All fees are due by the 7th of each month. Parents may pay for more than one month in advance. Deadlines by fee category:

Payment Methods
Payment via online banking or cash deposit only. Cash payment at the school is no longer accepted.
Sponsorship
A completed and authorised Sponsor Agency Approval for Fees form must be submitted by the payment deadline. The parent is responsible for obtaining valid sponsorship before the term commences.
Refunds
Parents must officially withdraw the learner before attending any class to receive a refund (less 10% cash handling fee). Uniform and stationery fees are non-refundable once registered.

Governance

School Board & Management

The School Board comprises the School Principal (Secretary), two parents (one from lower primary, one from upper primary), one teacher, one institutional worker, one learner from Grade 7, and one school director. All board members serve 2-year terms.

Nomination

Elections held at a general parents' meeting at end of each two-year term. No member shall serve two consecutive terms, except the Principal as secretary.

Comprises Directors, the School Principal, School Administrator, and School Accountant.
